Description: Recruitment, Interviewing and Selection, Discipline and Documentation

Who should take this course? This class is appropriate for anyone who has responsibility for recruiting, hiring and supervising employees, including supervisors, department heads, managers, business owners.

Recruitment: Brenda Krone, who has over 25 combined years of recruitment experience, will take you through a fun, energized, and interactive session on recruitment strategies. She will provide you with recruiting tools and approaches that you will be able to apply immediately. Including:

 

  • Establishing candidate relationships
  • Using active recruitment methods and referral acquisition strategies
  • Offer negotiation and closing strategies
  • Mitigating counter-offers

 

Interviewing and Selection During this dynamic and fast-paced session of HR 101 you will learn how to prepare and conduct a fair, thorough and structured interview. Trina Sandlie, who holds a M.A. in Human Resource Management, will guide you through:

 

  • Identifying job requirements
  • Designing effective and thorough interview questions
  • Learning what questions that can and can't be legally asked
  • Avoiding common pitfalls of interview and selection
  • Effective interviewing techniques

 

Discipline and Documentation/Performance Management
Documenting discipline can be daunting because of lack of time, confidence, or know-how. This thorough session led by Chuck Bethel, HR Attorney, is an efficient guide to :

 

  • Drafting clear, concise, and effective documentation on performance problems and behavioral issues
  • Mastering the progressive discipline process and learning how to effectively structure terminations
  • Documenting warnings, discipline and terminations in a way that is best for the company, the supervisor and the employee
  • Structuring discipline in a way that will allow the employee to take ownership of and improve their own performance

 

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration up to three (3) weeks prior to the seminar and receive a full refund. You may cancel your registration between three (3) weeks prior to the seminar and seven (7) business days prior to the seminar and receive a refund less a 15% cancellation fee. If you need to cancel less than seven (7) business days prior to the seminar you may either: (A) send a substitute from your company; or (B) transfer your registration fee to another seminar equal in value offered by Sandlie Consulting, LLC. within the following twelve (12) months. If you do not cancel, transfer or send a substitute, then you are still responsible for the entire registration fee.
